Rebirth Brass Band & Dumpstaphunk Bring Mardi Gras Show to NYC, 4/1 & 4/2

By:

CEG Presents and Nolafunk.com welcome the Mardi Gras Road Show to New York City. The Mardi Gras Road Show tour features two New Orleans giants, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk and Rebirth Brass Band, bringing their gritty, stomping, funk and brass party and throwing down at venues across the country. From the Crescent City to the Big Apple, the Mardi Gras Road show will make stops in NYC on April 1st and 2nd.

Over the past few years, Dumpstaphunk has become a New Orleans institution, joining Rebirth Brass Band and other NOLA greats before them. In the wake of the sometimes-stringent competition amongst brass bands, Rebirth Brass Band is the undisputed leader of the pack. Rebirth is committed to upholding the tradition of brass bands white at the same time incorporating modern music into their show. Their signature brand of brass funk has won over several generations of music lovers.

Dumpstaphunk was founded by Ivan and Ian Neville (sons of both Aaron Neville and Art Neville respectively), along with Nick Daniels, Tony Hall, and Raymond Weber. The band holds a direct lineage to New Orleans greats like The Meters and The Neville Brothers. Yet Dumpstaphunk is a unique monster-playing gritty, rockin' funk and standing on its own as the legitimate torchbearer of all things funky both in New Orleans and beyond.

CEG Presents' Nolafunk.com works to bring the music and spirit of New Orleans to New York City, and has put on shows featuring Big Sam's Funky Nation, Bonerama, Cyril Neville ,Eric Lindell, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, The Radiators & many more.
