ROCK NEVER DIES to Open at Hard Rock Cafe Times Square with Immersive Dinner Show
American Immersion Theater founder Scott Cramton co-produces the rock and roll sing-along featuring character Caroline
After several months in pre-production, American Immersion Theater and the Hard Rock Cafe are preparing to launch their all-new production, Rock Never Dies. Previews begin May 29, with the official opening set for June 12, featuring a red carpet premiere.
The new show, Rock Never Dies, is a coming-of-age, immersive sing-along that explores love, loss, music, and second chances. Guests will rediscover their passion for music alongside the main character, Caroline, and leave inspired by the power of rock and roll, all while enjoying a three-course dinner and iconic hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond.
American Immersion Theater took root in Times Square in September of 2024 with its ongoing and well-received immersive murder mystery, Speakeasy, Die Softly, at Carmine's. Since then, founder, Scott Cramton, has expanded the theater company's presence in the Theater District with horror experience, Spirits, and children's show, The Grandest Princess Ball Ever, in addition to performing over a thousand individual private murder mystery, princess party, and paparazzi experiences across the metro New York City area. In 2025, Cramton was approached by Hard Rock Cafe about co-producing a new show aimed at bringing theatergoers into the restaurant.
"I wanted to immerse people in the soul of Rock and Roll, and tell a story about how the right song at the right time can change you," says Cramton, "I've been doing immersive theater for 25 years, and this is an immersive experience that's never been done. I know it's gonna blow people away." Cramton's company started in 2002 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as Grimprov, which was composed of friends and peers from Grand Valley State University who performed murder mystery experiences in local restaurants. Over the past 25 years, the brand has expanded beyond mysteries into a wide range of experiential entertainment, including princess parties, atmospheric character acting, and paparazzi-for-hire services. Today, American Immersion Theater is the nation's leading provider of private immersive entertainment, and performs nearly 10,000 individual performances a year, with roughly 1,000 performed in New York City annually.
Rock Never Dies is the most music-driven and collaborative project from American Immersion Theater to date. Both the theater company and the New York City Hard Rock Cafe are preparing to bring this immersive project to life. "Everything from the performance, to the lighting, to the decor, food and drinks was carefully crafted to deepen the immersion," says Gerard Bellini, General Manager of the Hard Rock Cafe, "It's been a long time coming, and we're thrilled to finally show the world what Hard Rock has in store."
Rock Never Dies will host preview performances on May 29th, May 30th, and June 6th, with a red carpet premiere occurring on June 12, 2026.
