Michael Riedel, in today's New York Post reports that Sutton Foster has been cast in an upcoming Roundabout Theatre Company revival of ANYTHING GOES.

Bloomberg.com previously reported that Sutton Foster could soon be returning to Broadway in that revival. The supposed production would be directed by Kathleen Marshall.

Sutton Foster would take on the role of Reno Sweeney, originated by Ethel Merman in 1934 and famously revived by Patti LuPone in 1987. The revival won three Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical in 1988.

ANYTHING GOES features music and lyrics by Cole Porter and a book by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse, revised by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The story concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. The musical introduced such songs as "Anything Goes," "You're the Top," and "I Get a Kick Out of You."

Sutton Foster was last seen on Broadway in her Tony nominated role as Fiona in SHREK. Foster also recently starred in the City Center production of ANYONE CAN WHISTLE alongside Donna Murphy and Raul Esparza. Foster won a Tony for her title role in THOROUGLY MODERN MILLIE in 2002. Her other Boadway credits include YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN as Inga, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE as Janet van de Graaf, LITTLE WOMEN as Jo and GREASE as Sandy. Foster's debut album 'Wish' is available now.
