Fans of Halloween have a ton of events to look forward to as Q.E.D. will be celebrating the holiday all throughout October. Comedy shows, classes and watch parties will lead up to a free horror movie marathon and costume contest on Halloween night!

Below is a rundown of the events planned, with something in mind for everyone:

SPOOKY CLASSES

Looking to impress your friends with some truly unique decorations? Our Bat Skeleton Dome Workshop is an excellent choice. You'll be given all the materials you need to create an osteological preparation of a bat in the fashion of 19th century zoological displays!

Maybe you're planning to creep your friends out with your Halloween costume, in which case you'll want to take this special effects make up class: Bruises, Abrasions and Burns (oh my!), which will focus on making you look like you've been through the ringer!

And if you want to learn all about the history of ghosts in New York City, or the history of ghost hunting, Marie Carter is offering two fascinating multi-media lectures on both! Spooky!

10/07 @ 11:00am - Bat Skeleton Dome Workshop

10/14 @ 12:00pm - Bruises, Abrasions and Burns: Special Effects Makeup Class

10/15 @ 3:00pm - Ghosts of the Boroughs

10/29 @ 3:00pm - A History of Ghost Hunting

HA-HA-HALLOWEEN COMEDY SHOWS

Because it's our specialty, it's no surprise we have several Halloween-themed comedy shows coming up! Highlights include Myq Kaplan & Friends Halloween & Birthday Show, featuring Emmy-winner Josh Gondelman (Last Week with John Oliver) and Baratunde Thurston (The Daily Show). We're also excited for Cosmic Castoff's Sock-Hop Seance, which will transport the audience back in time to a 1960's prom! And Stephen King Fans won't want to miss Tabitha Vidaurri's The Stephen King & I, a Stephen King-inspired sketch variety show!

All halloween-themed comedy shows can be found here, with highlighted programming below:

10/02 @ 8:30pm - The Witching Hour (hosted by the Grim Reaper!)

10/03 @ 9:00pm - Yellow Tape: A True Crime Trivia Show (True crime trivia)

10/22 @ 7:00pm - Retro Bits (Comics play horror-themed retro video games)

10/25 @ 9:00pm - No Feelings Presents (Interactive haunted house variety comedy)

10/27 @ 7:30pm - Cosmic Castoff Live (Live horror-themed comedy podcast)

10/29 @ 8:30pm - The Stephen King & I (Stephen King-themed sketch comedy)

SPOOKY SCREENINGS

If you're like us, you love a good watch party... especially when it involves horror! That's why we're super psyched for Movies R Dumb Presents Halloween III, the only movie in the franchise to not feature Michael Myers, while quick-witted comedians will riff over the whole film. We're also looking forward to a live edition of The Only Podcast About Movies, which will be presenting a run down of Hollywood's love affair with horror. Also, with the return of Netflix's Stranger Things, we'll be throwing a watch party for the premiere of the second season, complete with a costume contest, trivia, and an EGGO waffle bar!

10/20 @ 11:00pm - Movies R Dumb Presents Halloween III

10/26 @ 9:00pm - The Only Podcast About Movies

10/27 @ 9:00pm - Stranger Things Season 2 Premiere Watch Party

CHRIS & COLIN'S EXCELLENT HALLOWEEN MOVIE-THON

Chris & Colin, hosts of the pop-culture podcast Overkill, will convert QED into a grindhouse theater on Halloween night, screening slasher classics A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Friday the 13th (1980) and Halloween (1978) on QED's nine foot screen, with popcorn and drink specials. In between movies, the hosts will screen vintage horror movie trailers, play trivia and conduct a costume contest. It's the perfect way for for any horror-aficionado to show off their costumes and enjoy Halloween!

10/31 @ 6pm-12am - Chris & Colin's Excellent Halloween Movie-Thon
