The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) and Under The Radar Festival Director Mark Russell announced the line-up today for the ninth annual UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL, January 9-20, 2013, at the newly revitalized Public Theater at Astor Place. A popular and highly-anticipated program of The Public Theater's winter season, the 2013 UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL will include artists from seven countries, including Iran, Belarus, the Netherlands, China, Japan, and Australia, and the return of UTR favorites like Back to Back Theatre, Pig Iron Theatre Company, Belarus Free Theatre, Lemon Andersen, and Nature Theater of Oklahoma.

For the first time, this acclaimed annual festival will take place entirely at The Public Theater's home on Lafayette Street. A late night Festival Lounge in The Public's lobby and Shiva Theater for artists and audiences to gather after performances will also be offered. During the festival, where more than 90 performances will be presented in a 12-day marathon of theater, The Library at The Public will also be open nightly for food and drink, beginning at 5:30 p.m., and Joe's Pub will continue to offer some of the best music in the city.

"January is the most exciting month in the New York Theater, and it is all because of Under The Radar," said Artistic Director Oskar Eustis. "Every year we are thrilled and surprised by the theatrical wonders of the Festival; every year UTR gives us a glimpse of our theatrical future."

"Under The Radar 2013 is going to be an intense centrifuge of new theater work from around the world," said UTR Director Mark Russell. "I am really proud to bring back artists like Back to Back Theatre, Elevator Repair Service, Pig Iron Theatre, Belarus Free Theatre, and especially the Nature Theater of Oklahoma, who first came to light at UTR. At the same time we are including some new names like the Leev Theater Group from Iran, Fleur Elise Noble, Christina Anderson, The Debate Society and Edit Kaldor that bring a new spin on the experience of theater today."

All single tickets to festival shows are $20; Member tickets are $15. Back by popular demand, the UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL will offer the "UTR Pack," which grants admission to any five shows (except Taylor Mac and Life and Times) for only $75. Tickets are on sale now to Public Theater Members. The "UTR Pack" is also on sale now to both Members and the general public. Discounted tickets to Life and Times will also be available for Public Theater Members and "UTR Pack" holders during the priority booking period. Single tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, November 27 and may be purchased at The Public Theater Box Office at 425 Lafayette Street; online at www.publictheater.org or by phone at 212-967-7555.

The Festival Lounge, located in The Public Theater's Shiva Theater and newly revitalized lobby, will offer a place for patrons and artists of the festival to come together, create new connections, and exchange ideas. The lounge will also feature DJs and a cash bar beginning Thursday, January 10 at 9:30 p.m to late night. Dates of the lounge are January 10-14 and 17-20, 9:30 p.m. to late night.
