The Estate of Michael Friedman selects one piece each year that best embodies the creativity, intellect, and specificity of his work. This year's Michael Friedman Award recipient is Gaurav Mishra for Beach Songs.
Awardees were chosen from 300 blind submissions and receive unrestricted cash awards to use as they see fit to move their work through the development process.
Additionally, all creative teams have been invited to participate in Pipeline's first annual paid Residency program, in collaboration with Drama Club Camp. Teams will spend a week in Maine at the lakefront camp, which features a professional-grade recording studio, spaces for both isolated writing and community sharing, and on-site dramaturgical support.
Applications for the 2027 cycle will open in Fall 2026. Artists can sign up to be notified when the submission window opens at pipelinearts.orghttp://pipelinearts.org.
