GOLDEN GIRLS: THE LAUGHS CONTINUE, MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL & Cirque Kalabanté to Hit Proctors MainStage
The Schenectady venue will also welcome CIRQUE KALABANTÉ's West African acrobatics to its season lineup.
Proctors has announced three upcoming MainStage presentations, featuring comedy, musical theater, and contemporary circus performance.
GOLDEN GIRLS: THE LAUGHS CONTINUE will arrive at Proctors on October 6. Written by Robert Leleux and directed by Eric Swanson, the stage comedy imagines where the beloved television characters might find themselves in 2026. In the new story, Sophia is out on bail after a run-in with the DEA, Blanche and Rose have launched a dating app for seniors, and Dorothy attempts to keep everyone on track while navigating a new relationship.
MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL will return to the MainStage November 12–15 as part of its 25th anniversary tour. The long-running musical comedy follows four women who meet while shopping and discover shared experiences through a series of parody songs set to popular hits from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. The production has been seen by more than 17 million people worldwide.
On January 24, Proctors will welcome AFRIQUE EN CIRQUE from Cirque Kalabanté. Created by Yamoussa Bangoura and inspired by daily life in Guinea, the production combines acrobatics, dance, live music, and traditional and contemporary African performance styles. The show features live Afro-jazz, percussion, and kora music alongside acrobatic feats, including human pyramids and aerial-inspired movement.
