Broadway veterans Larry Pine and Angelica Torn will star in a staged reading of the Jean Genet classic The Balcony on Sunday, November 5th at 7 PM at Makor.

The reading will replace the previously-scheduled reading of Tony Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day.

"Jean Genet's controversial play explores the tension between political demands and the rights of the individual. The Balcony follows the delusional patrons of a brothel as they play unwitting roles in a revolution. Genet presents a string of stunning and macabre scenes, all of which reflect his caustic view of humanity and society," state press notes.

In addition to Pine (Bus Stop, Angels in America, Joe Egg) and Torn (Side Man, Anna Christie), the cast will feature Larry Block, Bob Heller, Bob Sonderskov, Alexander Eitel, Cristina Doikos, Elizabeth DeSantis, Ronald Rand.  Stephan Morrow will direct the reading.

The Balcony is $15.  Makor is located at 35 W. 67th St.  For tickets, call 212-601-1000 or visit www.makor.org.
