Pied Piper Theatre to Present OLIVER! for Its 100th Production Milestone
The Lionel Bart classic will be staged at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, directed by Pied Piper alum David Johnson.
Pied Piper Theatre will present its 100th production: the beloved musical Oliver! This special event honors decades of youth performance, education, and community storytelling while bringing one of theatre's most cherished classics to the stage.
Based on Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, Lionel Bart's award-winning musical follows a young orphan who escapes the harsh conditions of a Victorian workhouse and journeys through the bustling streets of London. Along the way, he encounters a lively cast of characters - from the charismatic Artful Dodger to the cunning Fagin - while searching for belonging and family. Featuring iconic songs such as "Consider Yourself," "Food, Glorious Food," and "Where Is Love?," the production celebrates resilience, compassion, and the power of community through the talents of local young performers.
Founded in 1984, Pied Piper Theatre offers hands-on training in acting, voice, movement, and technical theatre for students ages 8-18. The company produces multiple full-length productions and intensives each season and has earned regional and national recognition for excellence in youth theatre. Reaching its 100th production represents a significant milestone for Pied Piper Theatre, which has introduced generations of young artists to the stage and inspired countless families through live performance. This 100th production celebrates not only a performance milestone but the generations of artists, families, and volunteers who built the program's legacy.
