It was one of the most love-filled, musically-thrilling birthday parties ever, when the folks at Jim Caruso's Cast Party celebrated the 85th Birthday of the most energetic, vocally dazzling, swinging nightclub divas on Earth, Marvelous Marilyn Maye. Scroll below for photos from the concert!Divas and divos came out en masse to serenade and cheer their Marilyn, including Ann Hampton Callaway, Jane Monheit, Julie Wilson, Linda Lavin, Billy Stritch, Amra-Faye Wright, Christine Lavin, David Rasche, Gabrielle Stravelli, Giuseppe Bausilio, Jeffry Denman, KLea Blackhurst, Erich Bergen, Jenna Esposito, Jim Brochu, Sarah Rice, Jonathan Russell, William Blake, designer Mario Buatta, and the conductor of the New York Pops, Steven Reineke. After a performance by the birthday girl with the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra (Tedd Firth, Steve Doyle and Daniel Glass), host Caruso and Birdland owner Gianni Valenti honored Marilyn by unveiling of a spectacular Seth Walters photo mounted on the historic Birdland wall. Maye is in good company; her photo joins a gallery of musical icons that includes Oscar Peterson, Charlie Parker, Michel Legrandand George Shearing.
