We all lie. But the vivid and layered years of lies in Harold Pinter's play, Betrayal, are a work of art. Who starts a play two years after a love affair fizzles out? Who ends a play right as it starts? Betrayal offers our modern audience a vintage look at London forty years ago. But it's a story taking place today.
Ned Averill-Snell is the husband. Greg Thompson, his best friend. Emilia Sargent is the wife of one and lover of the other. It's a potent combination, in a classic British play that lights a fire under an affair long over.
