The cast of and company of THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS hooded up in honor of slain teen, Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black teen in Florida who was shot and killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer.  Although the shooter, George Zimmerman, proclaims self-defense, Martin was found with only a beverage and pack of Skittles.  The case is now making headlines across the nation as one of racial profiling and a hate crime.  Check out the photo below in support of Trayvon Martin.

The show currently playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street) stars Audra McDonald, Norm Lewis and David Alan Grier. Directed by Diane Paulus, it was adapted by Suzan-Lori Parks (Libretto) and Deidre Murray (Orchestrations). Ronald K. Brown ( Choreography ) with Costumes by Esosa.  For more show information, visit http://www.porgyandbessonbroadway.com/.
