Kristin Chenoweth played to a sold-out house for her new show, THE EVOLUTION OF A SOPRANO, at Carnegie Hall, complete with an orchestra led by Mary-Mitchell Campbell and directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. From her very entrance, in a stunning gown, while clutching the famous 'Twenty-Four Italian Songs and Arias' book - the bible of any singer who has studied music - the audience knew that they were in for a special night. The crowd was treated to song after song, and number after number, performed with equal aplomb and skill. The material ranged from legit, to showtunes, to country, to standards and even, to the delight of the audience, a little Florence Foster Jenkins!
The star may have stopped growing at 4'11", but the talent continues to soar.
BroadwayWorld.com was there, and Kevin Thomas Garcia captured the evening with these beautiful images.
