Stand Alone: Songs About and Written By Losers, an evening of new songs by Sam Salmond, was presented last night, November 12 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. BroadwayWorld was there for the festivities and you can check out coverage below!
Sam Salmond wrote book and lyrics for Mormons, Mothers and Monsters (a Boston Globe Critic’s Pick) with music by Will Aronson. The show received its world premiere production at Barrington Stage Company in 2011. He also penned the book and lyrics to Missing Parents, with music by Yoonmi Lee, which had a limited run at NYU in August 2012. He has participated in writer's residencies at Goodspeed, CAP21 and the Berkshire Playwright's Lab. Sam’s music and lyrics have been featured at William Finn’s Songs by Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don’t Know but Should, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and other NYC venues. He is an alumnus of NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
