On Monday, April 25, 2016, faculty member and alumnus Alan Gilbert (Juilliard Pre-College '85, MM '94) conducts the Juilliard Orchestra in an evening weaving together the words of William Shakespeare with the music of Felix Mendelssohn in A Midsummer Night's Dream featuring actors Phillipa Soo (Hamilton on Broadway) and Bradley Whitford (The West Wing and Amazon's Transparent). Joining them will be current students and distinguished alumni.

Gala chair is Barbara G. Fleischman, and gala vice chairs are Sidney R. Knafel, Beth Kojima, Suzie Kovner, Stewart F. Lane, Teresa E. Lindsay, Ellen Marcus, Nancy A. Marks, Stephanie Palmer McClelland, Stephen A. Novick, Susan W. Rose, and Wes Stricker, MD.

Proceeds from the evening will help support Juilliard student scholarships; 90% of Juilliard's talented actors, dancers, and musicians need such financial aid to attend.
