Philadelphia Theatre Company Gets $2.5M Grant, Plus Plan for Reorganization
Just over a year ago, Philadelphia Theatre Company's South Broad Street home was foreclosed on by the bank. Now according to Newsworks, one of the theatre's major benefactors, Suzanne Roberts, has just given a $2.5 million grant under the condition of company reorganization, which will be headed by the Kennedy Center's Michael Kaiser.
Roberts's spokesperson Kevin Feeley told Newsworks: "Just by the fact that he's joined us, he's implied - he's not implied, he's told us - he thinks there's something here to work with. We think there's a good chance for the theater going forward."
