Perry Payne, Annie Ross, Denise Rosner, et al. Set for July at the Metropolitan Room

The Metropolitan Room has announced its July line-up which will include Perry Payne, Richard Malavet, and the Metrostar Talent Challenge. Come to the Metropolitan Room every Saturday from 11PM-2AM for the piano lounge- no cover, and no minimum.
On July 2 at 10pm Jenna Esposito will host MetroJam, the monthly open mic at the Metropolitan room. Each month boasts a different guest star, a terrific lineup of performers and the fabulous MetroJam House Band: John DiPinto on piano, Ritt Henn on bass, and Bobby Sher on drums. Singers and instrumentalists of all types are encouraged to join in the fun - just bring two copies of your music (uptempo songs are preferred) and arrive early to sign up (sign-up begins at 9:30 p.m.). $15On July 6, 7, and 9 at 7pm Perry Payne will be accompanied by Michael Rice and His Travelling Three in a musical engagement at the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan's historic Flatiron district. With Ray Kilday on bass, Steve Bartosik on percussion and Amy Hamilton-Soto on violin, the acclaimed singer/actress/comedienne has hand-picked an eclectic program that includes the music of Adair, Wallowich, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Cy Coleman, Steve Randoy, Ethel Waters and Mancini, alongside fellow Southerners Trisha Yearwood and Michael Rice & Mike Craver... and pop superstars Sting and Pink. The evening aims to offer a breezy diversion from a crazy year, chaperoned by Payne, a well-traveled New York-based entertainer. Her off-Broadway performance in Keith Thompson's "Kooky Tunes" garnerEd Kudos from InTheatre Magazine and Show Business Weekly, which named her one of the top 10 funniest performers in New York cabaret. Her holiday novelty single "Santa Claus Won't Get Lit Up (At the Trailer Park Gate This Year)," which she wrote with Rice, is an annual Christmastime favorite at radio stations across the nation, and has been featured in Billboard Magazine as a Top Ten Holiday Song for much of this decade. $20
