Paul Dresher's SOUND MAZE Exhibit is Making Noise at The Napa Valley Museum

Paul Dresher's "SOUND MAZE," a hands-on interactive exhibit featuring wildly inventive oversized musical instruments creating a cacophony of sound - including a pendulum 17 feet high, is attracting crowds of families eager to make some glorious noise! Returning two and three times and bringing their friends and family members, this kid-pleasing exhibit has also drawn professional and would-be musicians, attendees at local jazz and rock festivals, and fans of Dresher's acclaimed work as a composer and musician. Many plan to return on June 24, July 1 or July 29 for an in-person tour with Paul Dresher, or to meet him at the Museum's Member Appreciation Party on July 28. Meanwhile in our Spotlight Gallery, nature photographer MJ Schaer is featured in "iNSiGHT: the eye behind the lens" beginning a one-month exhibition and art sale to benefit the Museum's education programs.

May 12 through August 11: Sound Maze by Paul Dresher. Listen, play, and discover sound anew as you improvise with a dozen newly invented musical instruments in an interactive installation created by renowned composer and inventor Paul Dresher in collaboration with Daniel Schmidt. Designed for all ages, all levels of musical experience, and all types of minds, this hands-on installation lets you experiment with extraordinary inventions to discover new ways of creating sound and music. Admission is $10; age 16 & under and Seniors $5; Members get FREE admission.

June 24, July 1 and July 29 from 11 to 4: Paul Dresher will lead tours of the Sound Maze, included with Museum Admission.

July 28 from 5 to 7 pm: Dresher provides a VIP tour at the Museum's A-Maze-ing Member Appreciation Party, which also includes a fun barbeque and beverages. Members-Only. It's not too late to become a member! www.napavalleymuseum.org
