An Italian musical will be staged abroad in its original version: “Pinocchio” – written by Saverio Marconi and Pierluigi Ronchetti, with music by Dodi Battaglia, Red Canzian and Roby Facchinetti (famous in Italy as the pop band POOH) and lyrics by Stefano D’Orazio and Valerio Negrini – will be on stage at the Opera Theatre of Seoul Arts Center from August 7th to 23rd 2009. The director Saverio Marconi is just working to a new edition fitted for an international audience and said in a
statement “This is a milestone in Compagnia della Rancia’s history: two turning points will happen with only a few months between them: an original Italian musical staged in Korea in August and Cats’ Italian edition première in Rome in October.”

“Pinocchio the musical” is a show suitable to all the family: a musical which amuses and moves,
surprises with great special effects, and fascinates with ballets and songs which remain in the heart of the spectators.

Strong emotions accompany the audience to the discovery of Pinocchio's magic world throughout the show; from the lightning which, during a rainstorm, burns down a tree on stage, to the astonishing birth of the puppet; from the poetry of the Puppeteer's theatre to the Cat and the Fox's gags; from the magic of the Blue Fairy who multiplies Pinocchio in the scene of the mirrors to Toyland with an overwhelming ballet and then, the circus and a memorable scene at the bottom of the sea, until the exciting final scene. A great cast of very good performers, surprising scenes and special effects, spectacular changes of scene, exciting songs, colourful costumes give life to over two hours of show with an overwhelming rhythm.
