The 80th Annual Academy Awards are broadcast live from the Hollywood Kodak Theatre tonight, February 24 on ABC-TV, hosted by Jon Stewart.
The 30-minute red-carpet event begins at 8PM ET, with divas Joan Rivers and Melissa Rivers walking and talking with the stars as they arrive for the big night (to also be broadcast on AOL's StyleList.com). The Oscars Ceremony will begin at 8:30PM ET
Nominees of theatre-interest include Ruby Dee, Hal Holbrook and Philip Seymour Hoffman in Supporting Roles. Laura Linney (up-coming Les Liaisons Dangereuses) was nominated in the Best Actress category. Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz's original songs from Enchanted were also nominated. From Enchanted Amy Adams sang "Happy Working Song" and Tony-winner, Kristin Chenoweth, currently starring in "Pushing Daisies," performed "That's How You Know." Sweeney Todd won in the category of Best Art Direction and was also nominated for Costume Design; and Johnny Depp was nominated for his razor-wielding leading role.
