Oprah Winfrey Looking For The Right Play For Her Broadway Debut

As producer of both the original production and the current Broadway revival of THE COLOR PURPLE, Oprah Winfrey has seen her name gracing a Broadway theatre. But is a stage performance on the Great White Way in her future?

"I've been thinking about, for the past maybe three years, coming to Broadway myself, but when I see how much work is involved, and the kind of energy it takes to do that every night, I don't know," she tells the New York Times. "I'm looking for the perfect material. Something will come along. If the right material comes along, then I'll do it."
