Official: BROADWAY ON BROADWAY Cancelled for 2013
According to the Broadway League's official website, Broadway on Broadway will not take place this year. A message on the website reads: "Broadway on Broadway, the annual outdoor concert in Times Square which has in the past taken place on the Sunday after Labor Day, will not take place in 2013. Stay tuned for new updates!"
In past years Broadway on Broadway brought together stars and performances from current and upcoming Broadway productions to celebrate the beginning of the new Broadway season, turning Times Square into a big block party with thousands of attendees between 46th & 47th streets between Broadway and Seventh Avenue.
Last year's festivities included performances from the casts of Annie, Bring It On: The Musical, Chicago, Elf, Mamma Mia!, Newsies, Motown: The Musical, Once, Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson, SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark, Bare, and Stomp.
