Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson's new musical INVISIBLE LIFE is coming to the Apollo Theater this summer. Presented by Proteus E2 Productions, the show will begin Thursday, June 25 for a limited run through June 30, 2015.

The writing team had been developing INVISIBLE LIFE before Ashford's death in 2011.

The show is based on E. Lynn Harris's best-selling novel, described on the Apollo's website as: "RAYMOND, a college football player, dreams of a future as a lawyer and family man with his childhood sweetheart SELA, but is seduced into a Down-Low romance by star Quarterback, BASIL HENDERSON. Pressured by his Father to continue his NFL legacy, Raymond escapes to New York City and falls madly in love with a Broadway Diva, NICOLE. Raymond's scandal-reunion with Basil, and fashionista best friends KYLE & JJ, threatens his Perfect World and forces Raymond to Live his Life in Truth..."

INVISIBLE LIFE features book by Proteus Spann & Javon Johnson, music & lyrics by Ashford & Simpson and additional lyrics by Stanley Bennett Clay. Executive produced by Reginald Van Lee, the musical is directed by Spann & Johnson with musical director e'Marcus Harper and DJ Teddy Douglas.
