NextGen Talent Network Launches to Aid College Performers, Grads

"NextGen Talent Network (NGTN) was founded by Hannah Pogemiller and Stephanie Stanton, two college students who understood the challenges of pursuing a career in theatre while still in school. From a day full of classes followed by late-night rehearsals, to working part-time jobs, running student organizations and student-run shows, and everything in between, the two are no strangers to the busy life of a college student in the performing arts.

Pogemiller and Stanton have seen their classmates put in hours of work to find auditions just right for their needs, only to follow it with hours of filming and editing different self-tapes. They believe college students should be able to spend more time in the studio working on their craft instead of searching on countless websites to find auditions. That's why they created NGTN: to support college students as they learn, train, and begin building their professional careers.

NGTN opened recently on August 1st, giving students time to learn about the service before peak audition season starts in October. Through paid membership services, the organization helps students navigate the industry while they are still developing their skills and gaining experience.

Members share their interests, preferences, and the types of work they hope to pursue. NGTN uses that information to research auditions and opportunities that align with each member. NGTN team members will then create audition emails that include important information specific to each submission. This allows students to spend less time searching and more time learning, preparing, and pursuing the work that interests them. In return, members receive emails for non-union regional and summerstock productions that commonly book college students, in hopes they submit to further their career. NGTN wants members to think of their service as a pre-professional step towards having an agent.

At its core, NGTN is about supporting the next generation of talent while they are still finding their place in the industry.
