NBC 4 New York's "New York Nonstop," the station's 24/7 digital channel, hosted the first "Nonstop Giving" telethon event on Thursday, December 2nd. Partnered with WOR-AM Radio, NBC 4 New York raked in $425,000 to benefit The Salvation Army and the Food Bank for New York City that served as the charitable partners.

For the first time in 87 years, WOR had partnered with a TV station for charitable work. With famed radio personalities, John Gambling and Joan Hamburg, NBC 4 New York broadcasted live from MSNBC's Digital Café, overlooking Rockefeller Center's newly lit Christmas tree.

Thematic programming on NBC 4 New York and New York Nonstop featured various celebrities including Kathie Lee and Frank Gifford as well as Hoda Kotb. Also in attendance were Donald Trump, Russell Simmons and John Legend, among others. Stanley Tucci made a special appearance at Rockefeller's ice rink to speak to WNBC's David Ushery about giving back this holiday season.

"After raising $425,000 for the Salvation Army and Food Bank for New York City, we hope to make this Nonstop day of giving an annual event," says Michael Jack, President and General Manager of NBC 4 New York. "This inaugural success should be the first of many."
