New Podcast Series The Bernadette Joy Podcast: Crush This Debt Launches On August 8th

Local podcast, The Bernadette Joy Podcast: Crush this Debt releases their entire ten-episode season on August 8th, highlighting the first-hand journey of rational but tough decision-making that led to paying off 72K student loan debt in less than a year. The podcast is hosted by husband and wife team, A.J. and Bernadette Joy Cruz Maulion, and is produced by Andy Goh.

The goal of the podcast is to remove the stigma of talking about money and show the average person how to become debt free. The podcast will showcase how finances affected different parts of A.J. and Bernadette's lives, how they handled it, and the joys of becoming financially free. It is geared towards people who are interested in making a transformation to their financial situation. "We want to help those who are excited about making a change in their finances, but might feel alone or discouraged because they don't have someone they can relate to," said Bernadette. "That's how I felt when I started the debt free journey, and I hope A.J and I can be those people that we felt we didn't have during that time."

The podcast takes a fresh approach, forgoing interviews and sharing in the narrative form. It includes real-life experiences and decisions the couple had to make along the journey. Some of their podcast episode titles include:

How to Not Be a Loser, which discusses some of the big decisions A.J. and Bernadette made financially and thoughts on appearances.
The Big Fight Over Plastic, which discusses the great debate: credit cards. Yay or nay?
Friends or Financial Freedom, which discusses how hard it is to keep a budget and live your best life...and breaking the budget news to your friends.

This podcast wants to make finances as easy to talk about as everyday topics, like sports and music. A.J. and Bernadette hope their transparency will help others. They put their struggles, strategies and wins on the podcast to help others in their financial journey. "If you want to learn about how we changed our lives tremendously by creating better habits and behaviors around money, with tactics you can do too, then this podcast is definitely for you," said Bernadette.

The Bernadette Joy Podcast: Crush this Debt ten-episode season will launch on Wednesday, August 8th 2018. To celebrate the launch, there will be a party at Cocotiv Coworking, located at 1515 Mockingbird Lane, Charlotte, NC 28209; from 5:30pm to 8pm. During the evening, guests will enjoy a live podcast discussion, light refreshments and connecting with personal finance influencers.
