Nathan Lane to Star in Summer Run of McNally's 'Dedication, or the Stuff of Dreams'

The New York Times reports this morning that Tony-winning star Nathan Lane will appear this summer in a production of Terrence McNally's newest play - Dedication, or the Stuff of Dreams. Lane replaces Peter Frechette who had to leave the show because of a scheduling conflict. As per the article, the show begins previews at the 59E59 Theaters on July 26th, and Lane will leave the show after Labor Day to begin rehearsals for the Odd Couple. Appearing in the play with Lane will be Marian Seldes, Michael Countryman, R.E. Rogers and Patricia Kalember.

Dedication, or the Stuff of Dreams is the newest play from Terrence McNally, the Tony® award-winning author of The Stendhal Syndrome, Master Class, Ragtime, and Kiss of the Spider Woman. The play tells the tale of a couple's love affair with the theatre, which is tested as the theatre they run in upstate New York expands and they are forced to examine how far their love of the theatre will take them.

Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams plays the following schedule: Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8pm, Saturday matinees at 2pm and Sunday matinees at 3pm. The limited engagement begins previews July 26, 2005. OPENING NIGHT IS THURSDAY, AUGUST 18, 2005 at 8:00PM and continues through Sunday, September 18, 2005. Single tickets are $60 and go on sale May 23, 2005.
