On Monday, November 19, New York Theatre Barn will present "Spark of Creation: The Music of Stephen Schwartz." The cast, lead by New York Theatre Barn advisory board member Matt Cavenaugh (Grey Gardens, A Catered Affair) will include Nicole Borbely, Bridie Carroll, Greg Etling, Jaclyn Huberman (Broadway Idol 2006 Winner), Freddie Tyson Kimmel and Stephen Trafton (Les Miserables).

"Spark of Creation," described as an evening that celebrates where we have come from and the journey we are on together, will be directed by Hans Friedrichs, with music direction by Phillip Kirchman.

One of the goals of New York Theatre Barn's mission is to strengthen relationships among artists in the theatre. "Spark of Creation" is an event that celebrates the relationships that were developed at the New London Barn Playhouse (www.nlbarn.org), a summer stock theatre in New London, New Hampshire, where the founding members of New York Theatre Barn, David Rigler (Executive Artistic Director) and Joe Barros (Producing Artistic Director) met.

The cast and creative team of "Spark of Creation," as well as Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Children of Eden), all served as artists at this theatre at one point in their careers. Other alumni of the New London Barn Playhouse include Judy Kuhn, Casey Nicholaw, Michael John LaChiusa, Thom Sesma (NYTB advisory board member), and Barrett Foa.

To reserve tickets for "Spark of Creation," please call 212-255-5438. Tickets are $20 plus a 2 drink minimum.  The Duplex Cabaret Theatre (www.theduplex.com) is located at 61 Christopher Street.  For more information please visit www.NYTheatreBarn.org.
