NSMT Seeks Actors For A CHRISTMAS CAROL 10/16

The award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) is looking for performers of all ages for the upcoming return production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL directed by Jon Kimbell and starring David Coffee as Ebenezer Scrooge. Auditions will be held on Saturday October 16, 2010 at North Shore Music Theatre.

NSMT is seeking local adults and children for many roles in the upcoming production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. All those auditioning should plan to arrive early to register and warm up if needed. Auditions will start at specified times. All must be available to attend the callbacks if asked.

AUDITION SCHEDULE AS FOLLOWS:

10:00 AM
TINY TIM - Boys ages 6 to 9 - Very small, easily lifted, outgoing, able to sing a Christmas carol and memorize a few lines.
IGNORANCE & WANT - Boys and girls age 4 - 7 - Very small children, easily lifted, outgoing, no singing or dancing required. Must be outgoing and understand basic directions.

10:30 AM
PETER CRACHIT & TURKEY BOYS - Boys, ages 9 to 13

11:30 AM
BELINDA & MARTHA CRATCHIT and FAN - Girls ages 8 to 13

12:30 PM
Call backs for children. All children need to be available if called back. Parents should be prepared to wait.

2:00 PM
AEA and non AEA men. BOB CRATCHIT, FRED (legit tenor/baritone), YOUNG SCROOGE/FUTURE, JOE, MR. FEZZIWIG, MALE ENSEMBLE and PEARLIES (strong tumblers). All men should be prepared to sing an audition song, legit is preferred. Bob Cratchit and Young Scrooge need to be strong actors, roles could be non singing if necessary. Tumblers should have a prepared routine to show off their best tricks.

3:30 to 5:30 PM
AEA and non AEA women. FEMALE ENSEMBLE. All women should be prepared to sing an audition song, legit is preferred. Especially looking for strong sopranos.

5:30 PM
Call backs for men and women.

All those auditioning should be prepared to sing and dance basic choreography (taught at call-backs). Please bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. Male tumblers should prepare a routine to show your best skills. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL rehearsals begin the week of November 14 and performances are December 2 - 23. A specific rehearsal and performance schedule will be provided at the auditions. All those auditioning must be available for school performance at 10am (Tue - Fri) and public performances at 8pm (Fri/Sat), and 2pm (Sat/Sun). No exceptions will be made.

All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Auditions will be held in NSMT's Theatre Arts and Education Building behind the theatre at 62 Dunham Rd., Beverly, MA.
