New York's longest running and most horrifying haunted house, NIGHTMARE, will take on the legendary horror stories and urban legends of NYC's history in this 11th season edition - NIGHTMARE: NEW YORK. Producers Timothy Haskell (Creator of Nightmare) and Steve Kopelman, (producer of Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare") have announced. NIGHTMARE: NEW YORK will run September 26th through November 1st, 2014 at The Clemente, 107 Suffolk Street between Rivington and Delancey on Manhattan's lower east side. www.hauntedhousenyc.com

For the first time ever the renowned NIGHTMARE haunted house will delve into New York City's very own heart of darkness with a haunted attraction about the legendary horror stories and urban legends of NYC. Spanning time from when the island was called Manahatta to Cropsey, gargoyles, alligators in the subways and to new legends of the super rats created by Hurricane Sandy, NIGHTMARE: NEW YORK reminds New Yorkers and beyond that some of the greatest nightmares are in your own backyard.

NIGHTMARE is now celebrating its 11th season, making it the longest running Halloween attraction in the city, and it's second largest Halloween event next to the Halloween Parade. Created by Timothy Haskell as an interactive theater event in 2004, Nightmare has turned into a state-of-the art haunted attraction, entertaining over 40,000 intrepid thrill-seekers a year. Coming off two critically acclaimed seasons with KILLERS and its follow up KILLERS2, Nightmare is back to exploring new themes annually with the horrifying and haunted history of NYC.

"One of the hallmarks of Nightmare has always been its ambition," says Timothy Haskell. "Unlike most other haunted attractions we present a brand new experience every year in both theme and content. As artists this keeps it exciting and new. We could be celebrating our 50th anniversary and still feel like we are doing it for the first time!"

Steve Kopelman added that, "Producing a haunted attraction based on the lore of New York City promises to be our greatest challenge ever. We look forward to the city's embrace, as this haunted house will be utterly spectacular."

NIGHTMARE: NEW YORK is co-directed by John Harlacher. The Production team is lead by Paul Smithyman and David Hinkle. Art direction is by Justin Haskell, sound design is by David Roy, costume design is by Evan Glenn, Lighting design is by Garin Marshall. Video design is by Alana McNair.
