Theatreworks/USA will present its annual Gala Benefit on Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Broadway Hotel (145 West 44th Street). The event will include cocktails, entertainment and dinner, as well as the presentation of the Lee Salk Goodworks Award to performer and producer Jamie DeRoy and literacy advocate Verne Oliver. The event is being chaired by Mara Safra.

The Gala will begin with cocktails and a silent auction at 6pm, with dinner at 8:30pm and the award presentation at 10pm.  All money raised from the annual event will benefit Theatrework/USA's mission of producing quality theatre for children and families and presenting it to audiences, regardless of their ability to pay.

Entertainment will be provided by such Broadway talent as Celia Keenan Bolger (Tony Award-nominee for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee); Julie Murney (Drama Desk-nominee for The Wild Party; Lennon); Chuck Cooper (Tony Award-winner for The Life; Lennon); Jenn Gambatese (Outer Critics Circle Award nominee for All Shook Up); and the companies of Slut the Musical and Theatreworks' award-winning musical Junie B. Jones

Prices for the 2005 Theatreworks/USA Annual Gala include tables at $10,000, $15,000 and $25,000 for table of tens, with individual tickets at $500, $800 and $1,000.
