St. Louis' The Muny (The Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis) announced today the complete cast for its production of the American classic, THE WIZARD OF OZ, directed by John Tartaglia, known to Broadway audiences for his performances in AVENUE Q and SHREK. Choreography will be by Ralph Perkins with music direction by Valerie Gebert.

"This is an extraordinary, wonderful company and I can't wait for them to send us all 'over the rainbow,'" says Muny Artistic Director and Executive Producer Mike Isaacson.

Joining the previously announced Danielle Bowen (Dorothy), PJ Benjamin (Professor Marvel/The Wizard), Peggy Roeder (Miss Gultch/The Wicked Witch of the West), Kevin Cahoon (Hunk/The Scarecrow), Nicholas Rodriguez (Hickory/The Tin Man), Stephen Wallem (Zeke / The Lion), Leah Berry (Glinda, the Good Witch), and Lynn Humphrey (Aunt Em) are Michael Baxter, Walker Brown, Aaron Choi, Michelle Coben, Colby Dezelick, Emma Gassett, Sean Harrison Jones, Yvette Lu, Elliott Mattox, Rich Pisarkiewicz, Jacob Scott, Saidu Sinlah, Kaitlyn Louise Smith, Daryl Tofa, Halli Toland, Michaela Vine, Eleri Ward and Daisy Wright. The Muny Kid and Teen ensembles will also join the company.

Scenic design is by Robert Mark Morgan, with costume design by Leon Dobkowski, lighting design by John Lasiter, sound design by John Shivers and David Patridge, and video design by Nathan W. Scheuer. Wig design is by Leah J. Loukas and the production stage manager is Larry Smiglewski. THE WIZARD OF OZ is proudly sponsored by Emerson.

Based on L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel and the beloved 1939 film that introduced standards like "Over The Rainbow," "If I Only Had A Brain," and "Follow The Yellow Brick Road," this will be the first Muny production of THE WIZARD OF OZ in a decade.

After a tornado whisks away a young Kansas farm girl, Dorothy, to the magical land of Oz, she starts her quest to find the mighty Wizard of Oz who has the power to send her home. At the suggestion of Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, Dorothy heads down the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City. Along the way, she and her dog Toto meet a talking Scarecrow, a Tin Woodsman and a Cowardly Lion who help her on her journey.

THE WIZARD OF OZ runs June 13 - 22 and will be followed by 42nd STREET (June 24 - 30), THE MUSIC MAN (July 5 - 11), YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (July 13 - 19), MAMMA MIA! (July 21 - 28), FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (July 30 - August 5), and Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA (August 8 -14). For more information visit muny.org
