Connie Fisher, who was cast in The Sound of Music at the London Palladium through reality TV show "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?", will play only six of eight shows a week on doctor's orders after damaging her vocal chords. Former reality rival Aoife Mulholland will take her place in the other two, according to Whatsonstage.com.

Fisher had previously taken a two-week absence from the show due to her vocal injury, and was replaced by understudy Sophie Bould. Bould will fill in for Fisher on Monday evenings and Wednesday matinees until April 9, when Mulholland takes over.

Mulholland, who lost to Fisher in the semi-final of the reality show, has found West End fame in role of Roxie Hart in Chicago at the Cambridge. In April, she will play the part she initially tried out for, for two shows a week.

Andrew Lloyd Webber, who co-produced this production of The Sound Of Music and instigated the search for a star through the reality show, stated: "I am thrilled that Connie has returned to the show, fit and well, and welcome Aoife, who gave a sensational audition."

The Sound Of Music also stars Lesley Garrett as Mother Abbess and Alexander Hanson as Captain Von Trapp. Bould, who has found acclaim in stepping up to the role of Maria, will return to her original role as the eldest Von Trapp child.
