Noted philanthropist, tone poet, and world's most unlikely guitar hero, Mrs. Smith comes to The Cutting Room on Monday, October 9th, for an encounter with unbridled musical exploration, fully bonkers comedic storytelling, and Lady-of-a-Certain-Age pathos.

With a show that is part high octane rock concert and part stand-up tragedy routine, Mrs Smith and her band The Rage will sonically delve into the traumatic life events that have made her the guitar virtuoso she is today. From her Little House on the Prairie-style childhood to her kidnapping at the hands of a Norwegian Death Metal band, Mrs. Smith will leave no stone unturned and no note unplayed.

"I picked up these mad guitar skills while trapped in a closet in Norway in the 90s," reports Mrs. Smith. "To be honest I all but forgot I could even do this stuff but I am glad people seem to enjoy it."

With a set list that zig-zags from pop, to shred guitar to Great American Songbook including the music of Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Heart, Adele, Joe Satriani and Taylor Swift. Mrs. Smith and the Rage will be joined onstage by special guest Annie Golden of "Orange is the New Black" and Broadway fame.

Mrs. Smith is the 2016 winner of the "Shred for Your Life" contest and was a featured performer at the Guitar Gods Festival in Miami opening up for guitar legends Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai. Her unique form of musical performance comedy has been featured on America's Got Talent, PBS Television, and Off-Broadway, as well as Joe's Pub, Le Poisson Rouge, Williamsburg Music Hall, 54 Below, First Avenue, Webster Hall, Ars Nova, Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, The Bell House, The Laurie Beechman Theater, and Union Hall among others.

Mrs. Smith has struck like a bolt out of the blue in the music world via social media where her guitar gear reviews, tutorials, and eccentric music videos have become cult favorites among musicians and fans of guitar "shred." Combining legit rock guitar prowess with a sweet-natured, if bizarre, comedic sensibility, Mrs. Smith's online videos have combined views in the millions.

The Rage are Paul Amorese on drums, Matthew Dean Marsh on keyboards, Ricardo Rodriguez on bass, and Randy Willcox on guitar.

Annie Golden is an American actress and singer best known for portraying mute Norma Romano in Orange Is the New Black. She has numerous television and film credits and been seen on Broadway in countless hits including: Hair, Ah Wilderness, Assassins, On The Town, The Full Monty, and Violet among many others. Her new band Annie Golden Friends and Family have performed at the Cutting Room and Joe's Pub.
