MIAMI BEACH, FL - On Thursday, September 8, 2005 from 5:00PM - 8:00PM business-savvy arts' lovers delight in INVITATION TO THE ARTS, a unique, cross-cultural artistic extravaganza at the Jackie Gleason Theater of the Performing Arts.

 

Invitation to the Arts, the Gleason Theater's season preview and open house, serves as the Official Networking Event for Miami-Dade's most prominent professional organizations: the Beacon Council, the Coalition of Chambers of Commerce, and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau. Invitation to the Arts is made possible by the support of SMG, the City of Miami Beach, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Centerplate, Goldstar Parking, Projection Presentation Technologies, and Piano Music Center. Invitation to the Arts is hosted by WFOR CBS 4 Health Specialist Dr. Sean Kenniff.

 

Invitation to the Arts brings together traditional and contemporary presenters and performers from all over the county and all aspects of the arts industry. Dance, theater, visual arts, museums, funding agencies, and musicians all come together in a massive celebratory kick-off for the performing arts. With over 3,000 VIPs in attendance, more than 80 exhibits from South Florida's most beloved arts organizations, celebrity hosts and hot, breakthrough performances, Invitation to the Arts promises excitement that should not be missed!

 

The glamour begins at 5:00PM with a Cocktail Reception (complimentary hors d'oeuvres and bar) in the lobby areas of the Gleason, where over 80 arts organizations highlight their upcoming arts season.  Guests will enjoy pre-show entertainment to include belly dancing by the Mid Eastern Dance Exchange, mini-massages by Bodies Kneaded, soothing sounds by the South Florida Youth Symphony Ensemble, sizzling samba by Brazil Skindo Carnival, and stirring songs by the Decotones and the Miami Gay Men's Chorus. At 7:00PM, guests will move inside the Theater as the Gleason showcases its fabulous 2005 - 2006 Performing Arts Season. Mainstage performances include the young stars at New World Connections!, R&B songstress Raine featuring Robert Dante, and in special celebration of their 20^th Anniversary Season, Gleason Theater's Resident Artists' Miami City Ballet performs live.  All guests will then be invited on-stage for a scrumptious dessert reception and an insightful Backstage Tour.  Guests qualify for the opportunity to win great prizes and receive a copy of the 2005 - 2006 Jackie Gleason Theater Season Brochure, listing all events scheduled for the upcoming season!
