Met Opera Radio Broadcasts 'Un Ballo in Maschera' on Jan.5

On Saturday, January 5 at 1:30PM (Eastern) audiences can experience the ensemble cast led by renowned Russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky sing Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera, which will be broadcast live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

The cast includes American soprano Michèle Crider as Amelia, Spanish soprano Ofelia Sala in her broadcast debut as Oscar, American mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe as Ulrica, Italian tenor Salvatore Licitra as Riccardo, American baritone Jeff Mattsey as Silvano, and Chinese bass Hao-Jiang Tian as Sam.  Italian conductor Gianandrea Noseda leads the performance.

The much-loved Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera Quiz returns during the first intermission featuring mezzo-soprano Alice Coote (who currently stars as Hansel in the Met's new production of Hansel and Gretel) as quizmaster and panelists Willie Anthony Waters, Karen Stone, and Phillip Gainsley.  Other intermission content includes backstage interviews with some of the artists appearing in the opera.
