Just weeks ago we learned which talented contestants will move forward to the finale of Next On Stage, sponsored by AMDA and Atlantic Acting School! The Top 3 are getting ready to show us what they've got in New York City, as they prepare to perform at the famed 54 Below.

Learn more about the competition.

Who will win the competition? You'll have to tune into the live finale on Sunday, January 18 (12pm ET) to find out! Until then, we are getting to know the students one by one. Meet High School contestant Lillian Duncan Bicheno from Argyle, Texas.

What do you love the most about performing?

What I love most about performing is the opportunity that we as actors have to be truthful. When we commit to portraying a character or story as authentically as I possible, I believe that lives can be changed. Through our work we can make people feel seen, known, loved, and connected to each other in a world that often tries to tear us apart. When we commit to excellence magic can happen, and I want to be a part of that magic.

What's a role that you'd love to play someday and why?

Eurydice in Hadestown is an absolute dream role of mine and I would be incredibly honored to be able to play her! Hadestown was one of the first musicals I ever saw, and I fell in love with it immediately. Eurydice is cunning, compassionate, hardened, and hopeful, and her journey reminds me a lot of my own. She also has the best songs!

Is there a theatre educator who has had a big impact on you as a performer?

Yes! One of my directors Tyler Hutchinson has been my biggest supporter and advocate throughout my entire theatre journey (except for my mom). He has believed in me when no one else has and always pushed me to be excellent. He has helped me further my walk with the Lord and shown me what it looks like to be a performer rooted in Christ. I am beyond grateful for the impact he has made on my life both personally and professionally, and I am only here today because of his support and sacrifice. I cannot thank him enough, and if I were to win this competition he would be the first person I would call.

Share a fun fact about yourself!

I am incredibly skilled at Bop It.
