The Emelin Theatre, located in Mamaroneck, New York, and founded in 1972, is the oldest continuously operating performing arts theater in Westchester County. Its mission is to bring the best in live performing arts to Westchester and other nearby communities and to promote a cultural life that entertains, educates, and invigorates. The Emelin, well-known for its high-quality and affordable programs, is one of the few performing arts venues in this region which offers a broad mix of entertainment appealing to all ages and tastes, produces its own theater performances, and attracts diverse audiences throughout Westchester County and beyond. Due to its strategic location in centrAl Westchester, the Emelin also attracts theatergoers from New York City, New Jersey, and lower Connecticut.

Le Vent du Nord | $25

Part of the Great Traditions series
Since its founding in 2002, Le Vent du Nord has quickly become one of the most recognizable and esteemed bands of the Québec traditional music world. A direct predecessor of Cajun music, this lush genre blends fiddle, accordion and step dancing. This tour engagement of Le Vent du Nord is funded through Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation's Mid Atlantic Tours program, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program.

Le Vent du Nord Workshop | Free!
May 1 @ 6 pm (length: 1 hour)
Join us before the performance for a free workshop on the Québécois music style featuring select instruments such as the fiddle and hurdy-gurdy (hand-made by band member Nicolas Boulerice) and the unique Québec foot-tapping technique. Participants will not only learn the history of this distinctive music form but also how to play a traditional Québécois song!

Philadelphia's famed Pig Iron Theatre Company's Hell Meets Henry Halfway is a heady cocktail of florid insults and absurd cruelties, dressed in tennis whites. Based on Polish literary provocateur Witold Gombrowicz's Gothic horror novel Possessed, Henry is set amid a decaying Eastern European aristocracy. JoNathan Edwards | $35

During his 37-year career, JoNathan Edwards has recorded 15 albums and penned such notable hits as "Shanty" and "Sunshine," one of the most recognizable folk protest songs of the early '70s. His natural ability to sing and compose as well as produce has garnered him a reputation as a "musician's musician" who has shared the stage with B. B.
