Marni Nixon Performs at Memoir Signing & Discussion, 9/18

Marni Nixon, who provided the singing voice for the leading ladies of numerous classic movie musicals, will celebrate the publication of her memoir I Could Have Sung All Night by appearing at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Center on September 18th at 7 p.m. for a book discussion and signing. 

Joining her will be The Night of the Hunter's Stephen Cole, who co-authored the book with Nixon.  The singer will also perform at the event.

Dubbed 'The Ghostess with the Mostest' by Time Magazine, Marni Nixon provided the glorious vocals for over fifty of the most popular movie musicals.  Having one of the best-known and best-loved singing voices in the world, Ms. Nixon dubbed the vocal performances for many of Hollywood's leading ladies, including Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady, Deborah Kerr in The King and I and Natalie Wood in West Side Story," state press notes.

I Could Have Sung All Night, which features a foreword by Marilyn Horne, will be released by Billboard Books this month. "The book chronicles both her personal journey as she matures into one of the most accomplished singers of our time."

In addition to her work on West Side Story, The King and I, My Fair Lady and The Sound of Music, Nixon's film credits include Mulan, Mary Poppins, An Affair to Remember and The Secret Garden. On Broadway, she has appeared in James Joyce's The Dead, Follies and Nine, and is also a noted concert artist.  She has appeared on TV shows such as "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" and "As the World Turns," and is a four-time Emmy-winner for her work on the children's show "Boomerang," which she helped to create.
