Manhattan Theatre Club's hit production of Terrence McNally's Tony Award-winning MASTER CLASS, directed by Stephen Wadsworth must end its extended engagement at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) on Sunday September 4 after playing 26 preview performances and 70 regular performances. The play began previews on Tuesday, June 14 and opened Thursday, July 7 to rave reviews for the production and Tyne Daly's performance as the legendary Maria Callas. The production was extended twice due to popular demand.

In addition to Daly, the play stars Sierra Boggess, Clinton Brandhagen, Jeremy Cohen, Alexandra Silber, and Garrett Sorenson.

Terrence McNally's play about Maria Callas (Tyne Daly) takes us to one of her famous master classes, where, late in her own career, she dares the next generation to make the same sacrifices and rise to the same heights that made her the most celebrated, the most reviled and the most controversial singer of her time.

As part of MTC's 2011-2012 Broadway season, the company will produce: the Broadway premiere of VENUS IN FUR by David Ives, directed by Walter Bobbie starring Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy; the Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play WIT by Margaret Edson, directed by Lynne Meadow starring Cynthia Nixon; and the world premiere of THE COLUMNIST by David Auburn, directed by Daniel Sullivan starring John Lithgow.

Tickets for MASTER CLASS are available by calling Telecharge at 212-239-6200, online by visiting www.Telecharge.com, or by visiting the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre Box Office (261 West 47th Street). Ticket prices are $57 - $121.
