Malkovich, McDormand Set for Upcoming 'Transformers 3'

According to director Michael Bay's official website, Broadway veterans John Malkovich and Frances McDormand have officially joined the cast of the upcoming film Transformers 3. Bay states that Malkovich and McDormand are "both amazing actors [he's] always wanted to work with."

Michael Bay also talked about production details of the film, stating that the movie will shoot on Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., Texas, Moscow and China. Bay also stated that shooting pre-shoots will begin next month.

John Malkovich is a member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and starred in the original production of TRUE WEST. He recently starred in the Broadway production of BURN THIS. Additional Broadway credits include: THE CARETAKER, ARMS AND THE MAN, and DEATH OF A SALEMAN. He most recently starred in the Coen brothers-directed "Burn After Reading" and Clint Eastwood's "Changeling."

Frances McDormand recently appeared on Broadway in 2008 in THE COUNTRY GIRL opposite Morgan Freeman. Her other Broadawy credits include the 1988 revivial of A STREETCARD NAMED DESIRE as well as the 1984 revival of AWAKE AND SING!
