MY MOTHER'S LESBIAN JEWISH WICCAN WEDDING, the new musical comedy by David Hein and Irene Sankoff, with songs by David Hein, will make its U.S. regional debut in Rochester, NY at CenterStage. A sell-out smash at the 2009 Toronto Fringe Festival, MY MOTHER'S LESBIAN JEWISH WICCAN WEDDING recently made its U.S debut at the 7th Annual NY Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) where it again sold out and received the most awards of any production in the 2010 Festival - four in total including Most Promising Musical and Excellence in Writing! The Rochester engagement will play from December 4th through the 19th only.

What do you get when a straight white male from Canada discovers that his mother's a lesbian? A hilarious and heartfelt story that celebrates love in all its forms! The hit of the 2009 Toronto Fringe, MY MOTHER'S LESBIAN JEWISH WICCAN WEDDING is based on a true story that will make you laugh, cry and realize that nothing's impossible. David Hein wrote the title song as a gift to his mother about her real life wedding. Convinced the story of his mother's journey would make a good theatrical work, David and his wife, Irene Sankoff, stitched together the stories that everyone asks them to tell: what life is like with two moms, including the seven parents at their wedding; the "facts of life" talk that Irene received from her in-laws; and how David's mom first came out to him.

Hein and Sankoff began writing the show together in February of 2009. In July they presented it as part of the Toronto Fringe Festival. It immediately sold out, received rave reviews, was invited to become part of the "Best of the Fringe" and was picked up for a November remount at the 700 seat Panasonic Theatre in Toronto by Mirvish Productions. MY MOTHER'S LESBIAN JEWISH WICCAN WEDDING was extended five times and has played to over 50,000 people.

CenterStage is located at 1200 Edgewood Avenue in Rochester. Performances will be Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 PM, Saturdays at 8 PM, and Sundays at 2 PM. Tickets are $24 ($16 for students) and are available at 585/461-200 or www.jccrochester.org.
