MEGA STAGE TUBE: Norm Lewis Heads to AMERICAN SONGBOOK- Our Favorite Performances, Plus Songs and Scoop!
Norm Lewis makes his eagerly anticipated solo debut, entitled WHO AM I? at American Songbook on Saturday night at 8:30pm. The show is SOLD OUT, and has been for weeks, and he has been in what he calls 'training' for the last few months. His musical director is Joseph Joubert (Motown, The Color Purple, Violet, Leap of Faith) and the evening is directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, for whom Norm did 'Javert' along with Hugh Panaro as 'Valjean' in last summer's blockbuster success of LES MISERABLES at The Muny in St. Louis.
It was during that run, that Norm and Richard Jay sat down to talk about working together and Saturday night will yield the results of what seems to be a powerful collaboration. BroadwayWorld.com obtained the song list, which appears below.
They've been rehearsing for weeks now in preparation and as the weekend approaches, they join the musicians to put on the finishing touches. There will also be a special appearance by Norm's cousin, the Pastor Bobby Lewis and his Bobby Lewis Ensemble. It's sure to be an exciting night and BroadwayWorld.com will be there to report and to bring you exciting, and exclusive footage.
