Award-winning cabaret performer Jamie deRoy, best known for her Jamie deRoy & friends cabaret series, will next be heard on "Jamie deRoy & friends - Volume 7: The Real Thing", a collection of songs celebrating the quest of love. The CD -- deRoy's seventh full-length recording -- will be released by Harbinger Records this month.

The recording will showcase a diverse list of writers including: George and Ira Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, Irving Berlin, John Bucchino, Cole Porter, Michele Brourman and Karen Gottlieb.

The recording will also feature performances a number of Broadway and cabaret stars. Rebecca Luker will give voice to "Time" by Barry Kleinbort and Joseph Thalken from their musical WAS; Taboo's Euan Morton, Karen Mason (Sunset Boulevard, Mamma Mia!) and two time Tony nominee Penny Fuller (Applause) will also be heard singing romantic
ballads. From the pop world, Baby Jane Dexter will swing Gershwin; Billy Stritch will interweave Sondheim and Berlin; Kim Cea and Jerry Dixon will be heard duetting, Kane Alexander, who recorded on a rare visit from his native Australia, will also be featured on the CD; and Marcus Simeone, will heat things up with "Fair Enough."

deRoy is a celebrated cabaret performer, actress, producer, and talk show host. Winner of eight MAC Awards, deRoy has been running her critically acclaimed variety show, Jamie deRoy & friends, for the past fifteen years. Her first CD, "Jamie deRoy & friends: The Child in Me, Volume 1," won the 2000 MAC Award: Recording of the Year. "The Child in Me, Volume 2" was released in November 2000 with a fundraiser benefiting Variety: The Children's Charity. "'Tis the Season," became a holiday favorite and went on to win the 2002 MAC Award: Recording of the Year. "Family," "Animal Tracks" which proceeds benefited the Humane Society of New York (2004 MAC Award: Recording of the Year) and "When I Grow Up" followed in her recording career. In addition to her performing career, deRoy is also an Emmy nominated producer whose credits include Channel Thirteen's Emmy Award-winning "CityArts" series and numerous Telly Awards for her popular cable TV show.
