The New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) will present "Love at the Crossroads"- songs of love, hate, jealousy and flirtation - on Tuesday, November 13 and Thursday, November 15 at 8PM at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (57th Street and 7th Avenue).

The course of true love never did run smooth – but it has provided composers with a trove of excellent material for songs.  A quartet of lovers, performed by Sari Gruber, Paula Murrihy, Hal Cazalet and Matthew Worth, will present two dozen songs of amour in a series of linked romantic scenarios by a wide range of composers with varied philosophies on the subject of love. NYFOS Artistic Director Steven Blier is Music Director and pianist.

The program is divided into four sections, in which two couples fall in love through French song (Massenet, Chausson, Faurè, Lalo); they break up and fool around with songs in English (Stephen Sondheim, Burton Lane, Jason Robert Brown, Vernon Duke, Cole Porter, Benjamin Britten and Mark Blitzstein, among others); and they find a truce with one another through the music of Schubert and Brahms, with a postlude by Catalan composer Manuel Oltra.

Tickets are $48 and available through CarnegieCharge 212-247-7800 or visit the Carnegie Hall Box office at 57th Street and 7th Avenue.  Tickets are not available by mail through Carnegie Hall.
