Ron Livingston and Jason Patric have been signed to star in the World Premiere of Playwright Neil LaBute's play, In a Dark Dark House at MCC Theater.  LaBute (Fat Pig, The Distance from Here, bash) is MCC Theater's Resident Playwright.  Performances of the three-character play begin Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC), with an official Opening Night set for Thursday, June 7th.  The third cast member will be announced shortly.  The production will be directed by Carolyn Cantor.

"On the grounds of a private psychiatric facility, two family members find themselves brought face to face with each other's involvement in their traumatic past.  In court-ordered rehab, Drew calls on his brother, Terry, to corroborate his story of abuse.  Drew's request releases barely-hidden animosities between the two; is he using these repressed memories to save himself while smearing the name of his brother's friend and mentor?  In Neil LaBute's powerful new play, these siblings must struggle to come to grips with their troubled legacy, both inside and outside their dark family home," according to press materials.

Livingston, who will play Drew, may be best known as the star of the cult hit Office Space and as Captain Lewis Nixon in HBO's "Band of Brothers," for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actor category.  He is also known as "Sex and the City"'s Jack Berger. This fall, he stars in the film, The Music Within, which is currently running the festival circuit.  Other fils include Strangers, Holly, Pretty Persuasion, Winter Solstice, Adaptation, The Cooler, Swingers, Two Ninas, Little Black Book, A Rumor of Angels, The Low Life, among others.  Stage credits include Pensacola (Mark Taper Forum), Celebrity (Actors Gang), Rummage, Fortinbras Gets Drunk (Fountainhead), Never The Sinner, The Iceman Cometh (Goodman Theatre), Titus Andronicus (Williamstown).  Television: "Standoff," "Nightmares and Dreamscapes," "House," "The Practice."  Raised in Iowa, Livingston attended Yale University, where he earned his BA in Theatre Studies and English Literature.

Patric will play Terry.  Patric's feature film debut came in 1987 when he appeared in the comedy-thriller The Lost Boys.  He then starred in the war drama The Beast.  His performances in the erotic thriller After Dark My Sweet and the drama Rush earned Patric critical acclaim.  Patric next starred in Geronimo: An American Legend and The Journey of August King.  He has also starred in the drama Sleepers and in Your Friends and Neighbors, which was the first feature Patric produced for his production company, Fleece.  Patric starred in the drama Narc, which made its debut at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival.  He also completed filming Downloading Nancy, co-starring Maria Bello.  Patric starred opposite Ashley Judd in the Broadway production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Music Box Theatre.  His other theatre credits include Neil LaBute's bash, Beirut, Out of Gas on Lover's Leap, The Tempest, Henry V and Love's Labor Lost.
