Listen: Maya Hawke Shares 'Lioness' Single From New Album

Musician and songwriter Maya Hawke has shared “Lioness,” the latest track from her new album Maitreya Corso, out on Friday, May 1 via Mom + Pop. This is the second full-length collaboration between Hawke and singer/songwriter/producer Christian Lee Hutson and serves as a companion to 2024’s Chaos Angel.

The album was recorded over the Fall and Winter of 2025 in Woodstock, NY and in the city, with Hawke's frequent collaborators: guitarist Will Graefe, violinist Odessa Jorgensen, and drummer Michael Riddleberger. Maitreya Corso was mixed by Joseph Lorge and primarily co-produced by Hutson, along with Jonathan Low, with Benjamin Lazar Davis as the producer for many of the songs.

Hawke has spent the last couple of months offing glimpses into the world of Maitreya Corso. Her new website – Maya Hawke Music – has doubled as a creative hub for the record. By pre-ordering the album on the site, fans had the opportunity to receive exclusive previews from the new album, including unreleased songs and videos inspired by Hawke's paintings, throughout the month of April.

She has also embarked on her first U.S. tour in three years. The entirely sold-out tour kicked off at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY (where she wrote much of the album) and included stops at venues such as The Troubadour in LA. The Maitreya Corso tour will wrap this Saturday night at New York’s Bowery Ballroom.

In addition to her work as a musician, Hawke is known as an actor, with roles that include Robin Buckley in Stranger Things, “Anxiety” in Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2, and Ethan Hawke’s biographical film of Flannery O’Connor, Wildcat, which she also co-produced. She made her off-Broadway debut in 2025 in Signature Theatre's production of Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice, playing the title role.
