Linked Dance Theatre gives you permission to be a voyeur of a couple's relationship in their newest work: Like Real People Do. Give into your scopophilia, "love of watching," and observe Oliver (Nicky Romaniello) and Laura's (Katie Henley) memories up close. This immersive performance asks you to explore the imprints our bodies, and intimate moments leave on the spaces of lower Manhattan. What remains when their relationship is over? What won't the city let them forget?

The show starts at Dunwell doughnuts off of St. Mark's Place in the East Village, and winds through lower manhattan on a timelapse journey, touring the memories a couple has created in their year span together. The show features original music by Brenden Littlefield and Heidi Blair Clark. It was originally conceived by Jordan Chlapecka and is directed by Kendra Slack and Jordan Chlapecka. Original Text and Movement by Jordan Chlapecka, Kendra Slack, Nicky Romaniello, and Katie Henly.

Katie Henly is an actor/singer/dancer based in New York City. Proud to be performing with Linked Dance Theatre again! This spring she sang as a Semifinalist in The American Traditions Competition in Savannah, Georgia, and starting in October you can catch her in season 2 of The Other F Word streaming on Amazon.

Nicky Romaniello is a New Yorker with a Los Angeles address. He will continue to work with Linked Dance Theatre until they "misplace" his number. He has performed in NYC, regional and in LA since the Roosevelt administration.

Linked Dance Theatre makes stories come to life through movement, text, music and the body. Motions inspire emotions which drive the collaborative creative process that Linked Dance Theatre employs. Through our practice, comes staged and immersive works that subvert the conventional norms of theatre and dance. The works tend to question very liminal spaces and to explore the essence of what makes us human. LDT is run by Kendra Slack and Jordan Chlapecka both NY residents and artists. They have put on 9 original works in the past 3 years. Jordan and Kendra have been featured on the immersive podcast No Proscenium.
