THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA, a new musical based upon the play by Federico García Lorca, with a book by Richard Nelson, music by Michael John LaChiusa, lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa and Richard Nelson, direction by Graciela Daniele and Richard Nelson, and choreography by Graciela Daniele, will begin performances on Thursday, January 26, and open on Thursday, February 23. Developed by Lincoln Center Theater through a series of readings and workshops, THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA will reunite the team of composer-lyricist Michael John LaChuisa and director-choreographer Graciela Daniele, who collaborated on the LCT productions of the musicals Hello Again, Chronicle of a Death Foretold and Marie Christine. For this musical adaptation of the legendary Spanish author Federico García Lorca's final play, they are joined by book writer, co-lyricist and co-director Richard Nelson, who returns to LCT where his play Some Americans Abroad received its American premiere.

Now in its 21st season, Lincoln Center Theater is currently presenting its award-winning production of the Craig Lucas-Adam Guettel musical The Light in the Piazza, winner of six 2005 Tony Awards including Best Score and Best Actress in a Musical (Victoria Clark), at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
