Lincoln Center Announces 2009/2010 'Great Performers' Season - London Symphony Orchestra & More

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. today announced the 44th season of its Great Performers presentations. Great Performers 2009-2010 opens on October 21 with performances by the London Symphony Orchestra. Other season highlights:

Beethoven Then and Now: The Complete Symphonies - Iván Fischer conducts the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Budapest Festival Orchestra in period- and modern-instrument performances

Symphonic Masters series includes Gustavo Dudamel with Los Angeles Philharmonic and Yannick Nézet-Séguin with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, both in first New York appearances as Music Directors of their orchestras

World premiere of Pictures Reframed, a collaboration between Pianist Leif Ove Andsnes and South-African visual artist Robin Rhode - a Lincoln Center 50th Anniversary commission

U.S. premiere of Heiner Goebbels' sound landscape Stifter's Dinge is first Great Performers presentation in the Park Avenue Armory

Jordi Savall's Jerusalem project explores the city's Muslim, Jewish and Christian musical heritage in two programs

Art of the Song, Virtuoso Recitals, chamber orchestra concerts return to newly-revitalized Alice Tully Hall.
