Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. today announced the 44th season of its Great Performers presentations. Great Performers 2009-2010 opens on October 21 with performances by the London Symphony Orchestra. Other season highlights:
Beethoven Then and Now: The Complete Symphonies - Iván Fischer conducts the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Budapest Festival Orchestra in period- and modern-instrument performances
Symphonic Masters series includes Gustavo Dudamel with Los Angeles Philharmonic and Yannick Nézet-Séguin with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, both in first New York appearances as Music Directors of their orchestras
World premiere of Pictures Reframed, a collaboration between Pianist Leif Ove Andsnes and South-African visual artist Robin Rhode - a Lincoln Center 50th Anniversary commission
